Chapters & Sections
The Institution of Engineers and Scientists (The IoES) encourages the formation of Sections and Institutional Chapters to expand its global presence and promote collaboration, innovation, and academic excellence across engineering and science disciplines.
Sections (Country-Level Units)
IoES Sections represent the Institution at the country or regional level. They serve as hubs for national and regional members, promoting IoES initiatives and connecting academia, research, and industry professionals.
Eligibility to Establish a Section
- A minimum of 20 active IoES members within a country or region.
- The Section must follow IoES policies and guidelines.
- Each Section should appoint a Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Activities & Benefits
- Organize regional conferences, seminars, and workshops under IoES guidance.
- Promote collaborative research and industry–academia partnerships.
- Facilitate networking among engineers, scientists, and technologists.
- Recognize contributions through IoES Awards and Certificates.
Institutional Chapters
IoES Chapters can be established in colleges, universities, and research institutions to promote academic development, innovation, and professional growth among students and faculty.
Eligibility to Establish a Chapter
- Minimum of 15 interested students and/or faculty members.
- The institution must be recognized or accredited by a competent authority.
- Approval required from the IoES Headquarters before establishment.
Membership & Fees
- Each member pays a nominal annual membership fee (students/faculty separately defined).
- Chapter members automatically become IoES members.
- Membership is renewable annually through the host institution.
